Guatemala Totonicapán program 2600-5007

Story: April 21, 2009

The Conference of Evangelical Churches in Guatemala (CIEDEG) is an ecumenical, faith-based organization (founded in 1987) committed to democratization, peace, and justice, reconciliation and social development processes in Guatemala. It is a faith-based movement whose membership includes evangelical churches and peasant farmer rural organizations that seek and promote just social development between men, women, children and youth at the local, regional and national levels.

Its primary goal is to re-establish the social fabric and harmonious relations that were "broken" during the internal armed conflict that lasted more than 36 years (‘60 – ‘96) through the actions of the Guatemalan armed forces against the civil society.  CIEDEG promotes a life of dignity in both rural and urban areas by strengthening opportunities for human development, by generating self-employment.
