Ohio Growing Project raises additional funds through quilt raffle

We love getting news from our growing projects far and wide. Carol Sloan, FRB board director emeritus and volunteer growing project support staff, sent us this article and picture with the note, “St. Patrick’s Catholic Church has a staunch group of FRB ‘believers!’ I thought you’d like to see the picture that was in the paper.”Please email us pictures, magazine or newspaper articles, or radio/TV spots about your project at any time so we can share your news and creativity with the wider FRB audience.  And, my, look at that gorgeous quilt!

October 5, 2013 Bryan, OH -- The St. Patrick’s Quilters are donating this lovely quilt, with all proceeds going to the missions of Foods Resource Bank and Catholic Relief Services in Kitui, Kenya. FRB is a farmer-to-farmer program and St. Patrick Parish in Bryan has five area farmers participating. These farmers donate a portion of their crops or livestock, and the parish helps to pay their costs. Tickets will be sold after Mass on Oct. 5 and 6, Oct. 12 and 13, and Oct. 25 and 26. The raffle will take place during the parish dinner on Oct. 26. Shown from the left are quilters Irene Castillo, Charlene Bojrab, Pat Indorf, B.J. Germ, Hilda Poncsak, Donna Wynne and Roz Wendorf.
